Just think of what this annual report will find next year, with another 42 billion tons gone and a presumably negative carbon budget (meaning it is depleted) for some probabilities. On the other hand, the budget for 2C, rather than 1.5C, is still well away from being depleted. It is around 25 years away at current emissions for the central estimate (50 percent probability).
